Storms will clear the area Thursday evening, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some lingering showers, or storms through 3:00 am Friday morning. Otherwise, the roads will remain wet Friday morning, so be careful driving. The afternoon is going to see partly sunny skies, with a high temperature in Lubbock of 76°. That sunshine that will get through the clouds, along with a south wind will result in higher temperatures.
As we move into the weekend, we’ll get a break from the rain and storms and get soaked with sunshine and warmer air. The wind is going to come from the south-southwest Saturday, which will result in warmer air and dry conditions. The morning low will only be 58°. With that sunshine, Lubbock is going to jump back up into the 80s, as we reach 82°. The wind is going to be at 10-15 mph. There will be more storms on Easter Sunday. We’ll keep an eye out for any severe weather, including large hail.
