Friday is going to see a mixture of clouds & sunshine. That sunshine, wind, moisture & lift in the atmosphere will help to produce showers & thunderstorms in the afternoon. We’re talking about after 4:00 pm. Any thunderstorm will be capable of producing golf ball sized hail & wind more than 60 mph. We’re talking damage to homes, cars & trees possible. So, there will be an elevated severe thunderstorm threat Friday evening.
Showers & thunderstorms will continue on Saturday for most of the area. It will be cooler, so severe weather will not be a threat. Our main concern through Sunday morning will be flooding. The ground will be saturated from the rain on Tuesday, so flooding will occur pretty easily. We do need the rain, but be careful of flooded roads.
