Skies will be mostly sunny for Easter Sunday. The wind will actually be light, so high temperatures will be able to climb up into the low 80s. Lubbock will make it to 81°. There will be isolated thunderstorms in the area at 20%. Any storm could have large hail and wind over 60 mph. So, we will see if there are any severe storms Sunday afternoon. Right now, it’s tricky to tell. We just have to wait and see where the cold front ends up going.

We’ll start the next work and school week with more sunshine and warmer air. We’ll see a dry day across the South Plains, with the wind at 10-15 mph. The highest end of the wind will get to 20 mph. Highs will stay above the average for Monday, as Lubbock tops out at 82°. The Rolling Plains will see highs closer to 85°, whereas the western counties will stay in the upper 70s, with some low 80s possible. Highs will remain in the 80s next week, with no rela cool down anticipated.
