A weak cold front is going to drop on down from the northwest by Wednesday morning. We’re still going to see wind at 10-15 mph, with gusts to 25 mph. However, high temperatures will be much lower than the previous two days. the cold front is going to drop Lubbock’s high down to 73°. That is going to be five degrees below average for the day. It will feel nice, but the wind will be there to try to ruin the day.
There will be a rebound of high temperatures come Thursday afternoon. Skies are going to be mostly sunny, with just some passing fair-weather cumulus clouds. Our friend, or foe really, the wind is going to be on the rise once more. It will be sustained at 20-25 mph, with gusts reaching 40 mph in the afternoon. We won’t have to worry about blowing dust, thanks to the vegetation greening up, but we will see the strong wind sticking around.
