Things will be cool as we begin the day on Thursday. Lows will drop down into the upper 40s, with wind at 20-25 mph making it feel more like the mid 30s. So, be ready to dress warm in the morning hours. The afternoon is going to continue to see mostly sunny skies, with wind gusting to 35 mph at times. Lubbock will rebound, in terms of highs, as we get to 86°. That wind is going to put a damper on outdoor activities Thursday.

We’ll end the week with more warm conditions, before another cold front pass through the South Plains. Ahead of the front, expect Lubbock to make it all the way up to 85° in the afternoon. The cold front will bring in wind at 20-25 mph Friday night and into Saturday. We’ll watch as temperatures drop down to the low 50s Saturday morning. That is still near average, but the afternoon is going to be cooler and the wind will make it feel cooler.
