The weekend will start out with mostly sunny skies on Saturday. The sunshine & few clouds around will help to really warm things up. In fact, highs will be near normal for Lubbock, at 90°. There will be stray storms around the area in the afternoon & evening, but coverage will stay at 10%. So, no need to change any plans, just watch out for lightning.
Sunday is going to see more clouds around during the afternoon. The clouds will hold highs down below 90° for most spots, which is always great to see at the end of August. The Rolling Plains will see highs in the low & mid 90s, but the rest of us will stay in the upper 80s. I can’t rule out isolated afternoon storms, at 10% again. There will be moisture in place & some lift in the are, which you need for rain. Otherwise, nearly all will stay dry.
