By Friday, there will finally be some changes in the area. A cold front is coming down from the Rockies. This will bring in more clouds Friday, as highs stay closer to average. Lubbock will see a high of 93°, with the average high of 92°. I can’t rule out isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon & evening hours at 10%, thanks to the front & a low in south Texas.
The weekend will see more rain & cooler air. Saturday is the best day for the cooler air & thunderstorms. The coverage of storms, thanks to the cold front, will be at 30%. That could certainly increase as we get closer. Highs on Saturday for Lubbock will be at 86°. Sunday is going to see leftover storms, at 20%, through the early afternoon. The high will get to 89° Lubbock & low 90s in the Rolling Plains.
