Friday evening will begin to see the thunderstorms return to the South & Rolling Plains. A cold front will be coming through from the northwest. There will be ample moisture returning to the region, as well. Showers & storms will be isolated in the evening hours, but will increase after midnight, through noon on Saturday. Highs will be in the low 90s on Friday.
Saturday morning will see the best shot to see showers & thunderstorms, at 40%. The best window will be through noon. Heavy rain is going to be the main problem, thanks to the moisture content in the air. Scattered amounts of an inch, or more, can’t be ruled out. Watch out for flooded roadways on Saturday. The high in Lubbock will only reach 81°.
