We’ll see a shallow layer of moisture in the air Thursday morning. With temperatures dropping to the mid 20s, patchy areas of light freezing drizzle can not be ruled out. So, just watch for slick spots on the roads Thursday morning as you head out. The clouds will stay in the afternoon, with highs only in the low 50s. Any drizzle we see will be gone by the afternoon hours.

Friday will be another wacky day across west Texas. The wind will be howling, as sustained wind is forecast to be 25-30 mph, gusting to 45 mph. There will be blowing dust in the afternoon. The skies will be mostly sunny & dusty, with highs climbing to 77° in Lubbock & just over 80° in the Rolling Plains. The record high for Lubbock is 77°, so we will tie that, before another cold front moves in Saturday afternoon.
