Friday is going to see a record-tying day for Lubbock & many more locations. There will be very warm air in place, but the problem will be the west Texas wind. Sustained wind will be at 25-30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph at times. So, needless to say, expect blowing dust in the afternoon. Otherwise, Lubbock will reach a high of 77°, which would tie the record high, set back in 2006.

Another, very strong, cold front is going to be through the area early Saturday afternoon. Before it passes, Lubbock will actually reach a high of 61°, before we witness falling temperatures in the afternoon hours. This front will bring in dangerously cold air. In fact, we’ll drop down to 12° Sunday morning, which will set a new record low. The high on Sunday will only 30°. So, be ready to bundle up & try to stay warm!
