We’ll get another very cold start to the day on Friday, with partly cloudy skies. We’ll bottom out in the low 20s again for Lubbock, with lows near 13°-17° off to the west & northwest. The wind will increase Friday to 10-15 mph by mid-morning. We will see the return of mostly sunny skies, but don’t be fooled. Friday will be a chilly one, with a high of only 45°, but it will feel like the upper 30s to low 40s. So, dress warm & get those heaters cranked up!
We’ll finally get spared & see warmer air return to the South Plains by Saturday afternoon. Skies will be sunny, but the wind will still hang on. The sustained wind will be at 10-15 mph from the south-southwest. With that flow pattern, Lubbock will be able to reach a high of 61°, which is going to be above average for December 10. So, get out & enjoy the nice day that we’ll see.
