It is going to be a bitterly cold start to the weekend. We’ll get the cold air funneling down from the north by Saturday morning. Expect lows in the mid 20s for most, upper teens & low 20s for the northwestern counties. The sunshine will be dominant on Saturday, but the air will be much cooler. A secondary cold front will drop highs into the upper 50s. With wind at 10-15 mph, it will feel more like the upper 40s & low 50s in the area. So, have your jackets handy, yet again.

There will be another round of warm air & wind come Sunday afternoon. We’ll start the day in the mid 30s, feeling like upper 20s. There will be mostly sunny skies during the day, but the wind will be at 25-30 mph, gusting to 40 mph. So, we get another day with blowing dust in the air. Lubbock will reach a high of 72°, but it will not feel anywhere close to that because of the wind. So, good luck with your allergies this weekend!
