KLBK Midday Web Forecast January 12, 2016

By Thursday, expect much warmer air to flow into the South Plains, along with a lot of wind. In fact, the west wind is bringing in that warmer air. Wind speeds will be at 20-30 mph throughout the day. We should see less wind after sunset. That warmer air will help Lubbock see a high of 65°, with highs near 70° in the Rolling Plains. It will be the warmest day, so far, of 2016.

A cold front will move in quickly on Friday morning. That will keep wind up Friday at 15-20 mph. The cold air will drop our highs on Friday to the low 50s. But, the real cold blast will be felt on Saturday. Lubbock is only looking at a high of 44°. Some clouds will be around the area, as well.
