KLBK Midday Web Forecast January 17, 2017

Skies will begin to clear on Thursday afternoon, so sunshine will be the main story…aside from the wind. Wind will be on the increase up to 15-20 mph in the afternoon. Some gusts will approach 30 mph. So, that will put a damper on the warmth that is going to spread area-wide. Lubbock will see a high of 65°, but it will try to feel cooler, thanks to the wind. Highs will be in the upper 60s for the Rolling Plains.

The end of the week will stay warm & windy. There will be passing clouds, but we’ll keep it mostly sunny. The wind will actually be higher by Friday afternoon. Lubbock will get to 64°, but that wind is going to be at 20-25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph. The wind will stay this weekend, so if you have outdoor plans, just keep that in mind. You’ll have to hang on with gusts reaching 40 mph.
