KLBK Midday Web Forecast January 18, 2017

Skies will be mostly sunny on Friday, as the wind will stay from the westerly direction. So, we’ll once again get the down sloping wind effect here in west Texas. Highs will only drop a few degrees from Thursday, but will will remain well above average. Lubbock will reach a high of 65°, with northwestern counties in the low 60s & counties in the Rolling Plains in the upper 60s. Wind will gust to 40 mph area wide.

Clouds will be on the increase during the day Saturday. That will help to keep high temperatures lower than the last few days. Lubbock will get to 60°, which is still above our average by four degrees. There will be isolated showers in the area at 10%, so don’t be surprised if a few locations get light showers. Otherwise, the wind will be blowing at 20-25 mph, gusting to 35-40 mph.
