As we inch closer to the weekend, the high temperatures will begin in inch up higher & higher. Thursday-Saturday will see highs just at, or slightly above 100° east of Floydada. So, the triple digits will be more isolated, but they’ll still be there. For Lubbock, expect the high to reach 99° on Saturday & 96° Sunday. The wind will stay at 10-15 mph, so the breeze will try to help us feel cooler, but that is going to be hard pressed.
For the start of the next work week, the high pressure will begin to weaken & move out of the area. The skies will continue to remain sunny & the air will try to stay dry. I say try, because we will notice more moisture in the air Monday afternoon. Lubbock will reach an average high of 93°, but it will feel more like 98° by the afternoon.
