Sunday is shaping up to see warmer air begin to return to the South & Rolling Plains. There will be plenty of sunshine as a dome of high pressure once again takes control. Lubbock will get to a high of 96°, three degrees above average. There will be highs closer to 100° in the Rolling Plains, thanks to that high. This will also be common each day next week. Under high pressure, we’ll experience dry conditions in the forecast.

Monday is also the start of August. As the new month begins, highs will reflect common warm conditions. High pressure is going to keep the sunshine around, with highs jumping up to the upper 90s for Lubbock & triple digits in many locations to the east. At least the air will be dry. If we had the moisture in the air, highs would have felt closer to 110°!
