More hot & dry weather is expected as we venture farther along this week. Thursday will see a ridge of high pressure parked over west Texas. It’s going to be a weak one, so some storms will form in the Permian Basin. The South & Rolling Plains will remain dry & hot. Lubbock is going to see mostly sunny skies, with a high of 103°. The Rolling Plains will see highs closer to 105°.

We will begin to see highs falling, slightly, by the end of the week. Friday will still remain hot & dry. That ridge will keep any thunderstorms out of our area. There will be storms in the Permian Basin, central New Mexico & parts of wet central Texas. Expect mostly sunny skies for your Friday. Highs will range from mid 90s to the northwest, to 100° in Lubbock & 103-106° in the Rolling Plains.
