The clouds will clear by Saturday afternoon. We’ll then see mostly sunny skies & warmer air. However, wind is going to be a problem for your Saturday. We’re looking at sustained wind at 20-30 mph, gusting 45-50 mph at times. This will cause some minor blowing dust, but it will also ruin outdoor plans you may have. Lubbock will see an above average high of 71°. But it will be better for you to just stay inside on Saturday to avoid that wind.
Another cold front will sweep through the South Plains on Sunday morning. This one will stay dry & will keep the wind elevated. Wind will stay at 10-15 mph, with the highest gusts getting to 25 mph. Behind the cold front, our highs will drop down into the mid 60s once again. This is going to be just a few degrees above average area-wide. A light jacket is a good idea while spending time outdoors, just because that wind will make things feel cooler.
