We’re going to see clear skies and more light wind overnight. That is going to allow for cooler air to return in the morning hours. Lows will dip down to the upper 40s for most, low 40s to the northwest. However, the afternoon is going to see more sunshine and warmer air. Lubbock will jump all the way up to 88° for the high. I would not be surprised to see some locations in the Rolling Plains reach 90°, or slightly higher. The wind will be at 15-20 mph from the south-southwest.

By midweek, our first cold front of the month of May will enter the region. It will drop on through for the day Wednesday. There will be mostly sunny skies in the area, so just some clouds to give a few breaks from the sun. Our high temperature will drop down to a more comfortable 70°. The wind will stay elevated, at 20-30 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times. So, that will make things feel more like the low 60s.
