Today marks the 47th anniversary of the devastating F5 tornado that struck downtown Lubbock. Luckily, today’s weather is going to be more calm than it was back in 1970. Expect dry air this afternoon, as the low pressure that brought severe weather continues to move east. The skies will be sunny today, but the air cooler than what we saw on Wednesday. Lubbock is going to reach a high temperature of 78°, which is below average. Wind is going to be sustained at 15-20 mph.
Tomorrow morning is looking to be a cool one to start. Most locations will actually drop down into the upper 40s, low 40s to the northwest. The sun will shine for your Friday. We’ll actually see wind only at 5-10 mph, so that make for a great outdoors day. Skies will be mostly sunny and Lubbock will make it to 77° for the high. It will actually feel cooler, thanks to the light wind we’ll get. So, get out and enjoy it!
