The wind is going to drop to 10-15 mph by Wednesday. We’ll start the day with most spots hovering in the mid 40s. The northwestern counties will see lows in the upper 30s. The sun is going to shine on Wednesday, with no clouds in sight. However, high temperatures will remain below average, thanks to this cooler air mass over west Texas. Expect a high temperature in Lubbock of 75°. We’ll be closer to 80° in the Rolling Plains, with low 70s to the northwest.
The air is going to warm up as we move into the day Friday. We’ll see an upper-level ridge of high pressure take over the region. This will promote dry conditions and will shift the wind around to the south. The wind will only be at 5-10 mph, so this will be a great day to get outside and enjoy the warm air. Highs will be in the low 80s by the afternoon and will actually feel warmer due to the light wind. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
