Saturday is shaping up to be mostly sunny, again. We’ll still see the wind from the south at 10-15 mph, bringing in warmer air. Highs will be climbing into the mid 80s, which is right on the average. A dry line will be setting up right along the state line. We’ll see weak moisture coming back into the area, but we’re missing out on strong lift & instability. So, the thunderstorm threat is low, 10%, but any storm that forms will produce large hail.

Sunday is looking like a better day to see some severe thunderstorms. The dry line will be setting up just east of Lubbock & I-27/U.S. 87 in the afternoon. The dry line will be stronger, so the Rolling Plains are under the gun for severe thunderstorms that will produce large hail & damaging wind. The tornado threat is basically nil, because the cloud bases will remain high.
