Storms will begin to affect the Lubbock metro some time between 8:00 pm-10:00 pm. That will be the first round of storms. These have the possibility to produce golf ball size hail, or larger. The tornado threat will be along the state line this evening. That tornado threat will shift east after midnight. We’ll see more storms near Lubbock from midnight-9:00 am. These storms will, once again, have golf ball size hail, or larger and isolated tornadoes.
Thunderstorms will clear the Lubbock metro by 9:00 Wednesday morning. We’ll see another round of severe storms near Childress tomorrow afternoon, but they will not be anywhere near Lubbock tomorrow. In fact, we’ll see mostly sunny skies tomorrow, with high temperatures getting back into the low 80s. The wind will be at 20-25 mph tomorrow. So, that will blow around the warm air. The dry conditions will stay through the end of the weekend.
