Expect much of the same on Wednesday afternoon, too. However, we’ll begin to see the wind increase to 10-15 mph in the afternoon. This is ahead of a trough of low pressure that clips the area on Thursday. Skies will stay sunny & the air is going to be toasty for November standards. Expect a high of 80° for Lubbock & mid 80s off the Caprock.

That trough of low pressure will kick up the wind on Thursday. Sustained wind is going to be from the south-southwest at 20-25 mph & gusting to 35 mph. There will be mostly sunny skies in the afternoon, but even as that trough moves in, we’ll get to a high of 76°. A stronger cold front will come in on Friday, which will make things very chilly for the weekend.
