The fun starts on Thursday as that trough of low pressure brings in more wind & drops our highs to the upper 70s. The wind is going to stay at 15-25 mph, gusting to 35 mph in the afternoon. There will be increasing clouds during the day, as well. Lubbock will get to 79°, but a strong cold front is going to move in that night, which will bring in frigid air by Friday morning.
Behind that cold front, high temperatures take a major nose dive on Friday afternoon. The skies will clear out & we’ll get that sunshine, but highs will only be in the upper 50s for Lubbock. The wind is going to be at 10-15 mph, which will make it feel more like the low 50s. So, Friday will be a great day to dress nice & warm.
