Highs drop more on Thursday, under cloudy skies. Our next storm system will push through the area, bringing isolated storms to the Rolling Plains. Coverage will be at 20%, with Lubbock being on the fringe of seeing any rain. Those showers will mainly be in the afternoon, off the Caprock. The high will only reach 65°, with low 60s west & upper 60s to the east. Where there’s rain, temperatures will be lower.

Our temperature roller coaster will move back up by Friday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will prevail all over west Texas. A ridge of high pressure is going to work itself back over our area. So, highs will be on the rebound to 80°, with mid 80s off the Caprock & upper 70s west. The wind will be light, at 5-10 mph. So, high school football games this week will be warmer & dry.
