By Friday morning, the wind will become light & the skies will clear out. That is a perfect recipe for a cold start to the day. We’ll see lows down to 38°. Temperatures will be dropping to near freezing levels in our western counties, so dress warm! Friday afternoon will still see sunny skies & we will be able to rebound with highs in the mid 70s, low 70s west. So, be ready for a chilly night of high school football on Friday night.

Saturday will begin to see the wind shift around to the south-southwest. This will bring in dry & warmer air to the South Plains. The sunshine will still stick around, but with that warmer air, expect highs to be in the lower & mid 80s. Lubbock will top out at 83° during the day. Kickoff temperature for the Oklahoma-Texas Tech game at 7:00 pm will be 77°.
