Moving through the end of the week, we’ll be jumping back on the temperature roller coaster. It will drop slightly on Thursday afternoon, as highs will be in the lower 80s. We’ll see mid 80s off the Caprock. Wind will be light, only staying between 5-10 mph. It will be a good day to get some yard work done, or just reading a book outdoors. Why not, right?

Things will really start to feel like spring in October by Friday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will move in at 25,00 feet. That is going to promote sinking air across west Texas. Sinking air prevents clouds from forming, so the sunshine will be dominating on Friday, as will the warm air. We’ll see our high jump up to 85°, with near 90° in the Rolling Plains.
