The weekend is going to be sunny & very warm. In fact, we’ll see some of the warmest air for the month of October in parts of the area. The sunshine is going to hang around under this high pressure system on Saturday. With wind from the southwest, Lubbock will see the high jump up to 86°, with highs closer to 90° in the Rolling Plains & low 80s to the west. Have sunscreen if you’ll be spending time outdoors.
For Sunday, expect much of the same. It’s now looking like Sunday will be the warmest over the next seven days. It will be very identical to a summertime set-up. High pressure is over us, prompting sunshine, warm air, blue skies & dry conditions. So, the high for Lubbock will be reaching 87°, as highs will easily get to 90°-93° in the Rolling Plains & closer to 85° to the west. We’ll begin to see cooler air by the latter half of next week.
