The warmest air will be affecting this area by midweek. The air is going to stay dry, the wind will be at 10-15 mph during the day. So, that is not as bad as things will be early in the week. Expect there to be sunny skies all day on Wednesday, with highs in the upper 80s. There will be locations in the Rolling Plains that get to the low 90s.

Thursday is still looking to stay above average, at least for one more day. Highs will be dropping to the mid 80s in Lubbock & upper 80s to the east. Wind is going to be lower, only staying between 5-10 mph. So, that will be a good outdoor day. So, the first week of October is still trying to feel like summer.
