The front will push east by Friday morning. If there are any storms very early Friday, they will stay off the Caprock & be very isolated, at 10%. Otherwise, the skies will be partly sunny for Friday afternoon. The wind will be howling behind the front at 15-25 mph, gusting to 35 mph at times. Highs will only be in the mid 60s! So, things will be quiet chilly & windy for the high school football games on Friday night.
Saturday will see more calm weather, as wind will only be at 5-10 mph. the post-front air mass is going to stay cooler on Saturday afternoon. There will still be partly sunny skies in the area, but highs will be barely reaching 70° for Lubbock, while staying in the mid 60s off to the west. With the lower wind, Saturday should be nice to spend some time outdoors.
