Expect leftover thunderstorms across the area Saturday morning & early afternoon. If you’re tailgating early for the Texas Tech home football opener, have the rain gear in your car, just to be on the safe side. You need to also look out for lightning. Storms will only be at 10% Saturday, but some will still be in the area. We’ll see a partly sunny day, so things will warm up & highs will jump to the upper 80s.
The dry air will be in full effect for the area on Sunday afternoon. The clouds will clear in the morning, making way for sunny skies. With the sunshine comes warmer air, so expect the highs to climb up into the low 90s, with mid 90s off the Caprock. Wind will be on the increase to 10-15 mph. So, those flooded areas will begin to dry out by Sunday afternoon.
