Showers & thunderstorms will start to work their way through the area on Saturday. As of now, coverage of those storms will be at 40%, especially in the Rolling Plains Saturday evening. With the amount of moisture in the air, as well as the lift from the front, we will see pockets of heavy rain & street flooding with any thunderstorm. Just keep that in mind over the weekend.

We’ll feel the effects from that cold front on Sunday afternoon. The cooler air will filter down into the area & we won’t be done with thunderstorms, either. We’ll see 30% for storms in the region Sunday, with highs falling down into the lower 70s. There will be some spots dropping into the upper 60s with those storms. So, have your rain gear ready for the weekend, as many spots will see welcome rain with this new season.
