For Thursday, expect leftover clouds, with leftover spotty storms, especially in the Rolling Plains. The tropical system will fizzle out over eastern Arizona & western New Mexico. So, the moisture will still be around, but shifting off to the east. Storms will only be at 10%, so most will be dry & partly sunny. Expect Lubbock to see a high of 90°, thanks to more sunshine peeking through the clouds in the afternoon.

Friday is looking to be mostly sunny all day long. I can’t rule out isolated thunderstorms in the area during the afternoon & evening hours. Much like last week, these storms will be spotty, at 10% & will miss most of us. Still, take some rain gear with you to the area high school football games. If anything, just leave it in the car. It’s better to be safe than sorry. We will see another warm one, with a high of 91° in Lubbock.
