We have seen a very summery afternoon today across the entire area. The Rolling Plains is getting the brunt of the heat. There are several spots at, or just above 100° now. Lubbock has been holding steady at 98° & will stay in two digits for highs today. Expect more clear skies tonight, as lows will only drop down into the low 70s.
Sunday will be a repeat of the sunny skies & heat in the area. The high pressure that has not moved will remain in effect for another day & a half. So, expect more triple digit weather in the Rolling Plains tomorrow. That will try to creep west & get close to Lubbock, too. However, I am going with 99° for the Lubbock metro on Sunday. Can you tell the difference between 99°, or 100°? I can’t either.
