What a great Sunday it was here in the South and Rolling Plains. We saw mostly sunny conditions with warmer temperatures into the 90s. The temperatures we had today were right around average for what we usually see during the summertime.
The reason we have this warming period is due to a ridge of high pressure that moved in from the East and is now sitting over us. The rotation from this high pressure system is picking up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and moving it in a clockwise motion through parts of Arizona and New Mexico. West Texas is enclosed in this bubble of high pressure and the moisture is moving around us bringing storms and cooler temperatures to our East and West, while keeping us dry.
Conditions will stay consistent through the week with sunny skies. Temperatures will remain in the 90s, and some areas may even hit the triple digits. Go out and enjoy the sunshine, but don’t forget sunscreen, water, sunglasses, and hats in order to prevent sun damage. Have a great week!
