Tonight: Mostly clear overnight tonight with mild temperatures that will stay above normal. We’re look at mid 30s with winds out of the southeast around 5-15 mph.

Tomorrow: The day will start off with lighter winds out of the south and southeast around 10-20 mph. By lunch time, things will pick up a bit and those winds will become stronger as a storm system moves closer to West Texas. This system will move over the Texas panhandle into the early evening, leaving the South Plains will strong southwesterly winds. Winds will range from 30-45 mph, with gusts as high as 60 mph. Blowing dust will be likely with these conditions.

High Wind Watch: In effect Monday 10 AM – 6 PM for areas on the Caprock

Fire Weather Watch: In effect Monday 12 PM – 8 PM for areas through the southern South Plains and Rolling Plains

Avoid any outdoor burning on Monday and even through Tuesday as conditions will remain breezy. Once this system passes fully to the east, it will leave us with colder temperatures. We’re looking at 40s for the middle of the week, before near normal temperatures return by Friday.
