Good Thursday Morning:
Unlike the last few mornings, we are starting the day out mostly clear this morning across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. Expect mostly sunny conditions today around the area. Daytime highs will be slightly warmer with lower 90s on the Caprock and middle 90s off in the Rolling Plains.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening, mostly across the far northwestern and western South Plains. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy conditions this evening and overnight across the area.
Isolated thunderstorm chances increase on Friday and Saturday across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. Sky conditions will be partly sunny on Friday and Saturday. Daytime highs will be in the lower 90s on Friday. Highs on Saturday will be cooler, ranging from the middle to upper 80s.
The Storm Prediction Center has a “marginal” risk for severe weather in place Friday across the northern South Plains and the northern Rolling Plains. There is also a “marginal” risk on Saturday across the far northern Rolling Plains. A “marginal” risk simply means there is a low end threat for a strong to severe storm.
Isolated thunderstorm chances will continue for Sunday, Monday and early on Tuesday. Temperatures will warm back into the lower 90s next week.
