Today: Expect another beautiful day in Lubbock. We’ll see mostly clear, sunny skies with temperatures reaching 60 degrees. WSW wind 5-10 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies overnight with temperatures dropping near 30 degrees. ENE wind 5-15 mph.
Extended: Temperatures will be much cooler for the weekend as we drop into the 40s beginning on Friday. We’ll also see more clouds filtering in on Friday associated with our next storm system. We have a chance for rain, beginning in the late afternoon/early evening hours on Friday and continuing through Saturday. We could even see some lingering isolated showers on Sunday and Monday, but the best chance for rain will be on Saturday. Friday night into Saturday morning and with the cooler air, we’ll likely see some of that rain transition over into a rain/snow mix, but this will stay in the Northwestern South Plains. Majority of our region will only experience the cold and rainy conditions.
