April 30th, 2019 Evening Weather

Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been an overcast and rainy day across the South Plains with highs remaining in the upper 70’s and low 80’s. Tomorrow sunshine will return and high temperatures will jump back into the upper 80’s and low 90’s. This combined with the shifting dry line could lead to a few storms firing up tomorrow afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under the Marginal Risk Category for strong to severe storms in the eastern South Plains. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the biggest threats. Then Thursday will be cooler and we will see a break from our storm chances throughout the day, but by evening they will return and continue into the weekend. Make sure to keep your umbrellas handy and stay weather aware throughout the week!
