Happy Friday everyone! It has been an overcast and breezy day across the South Plains with highs starting off warm in the low 80’s. However, the cold front started to move into the region mid-afternoon and is bringing a drastic drop in temperatures to the portions of the South Plains behind it. It will continue to slide across the region throughout the remainder of the evening so grab a coat before walking out the door because it is going to be quite chilly. The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning for the majority of the South Plains from 1AM until 10AM on Saturday morning. That means that it is imperative that you bring your pets and potted plants indoors and turn your sprinklers off this evening. We will remain cool and cloudy throughout Saturday and then will see an impressive increase in temperatures on your Sunday. We are expecting low-80’s by Sunday afternoon with windy and dusty conditions. Therefore, be prepared for blowing dust and fire weather potential throughout the second half of the weekend.
