August 11th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Friday everyone! It has been another hot and sunny day with many folks seeing above average temperatures. However, a cold front has started to sag into the northern panhandle this afternoon that will bring a minor cool down as well as our next chance for showers and thunderstorms over the weekend. This will impact the South Plains through the beginning of next week. Portions of the South Plains will be under the Marginal Risk Category for strong to severe storms with hail, damaging winds, and flooding becoming issue yet again. Therefore, it is important to make sure to drive with caution and if you see pooling water, turn around, don’t drown. Also make sure to keep your umbrellas handy and stay weather aware!
