Happy FINALLY Friday everyone! Today has been yet another sunny and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the mid to upper 90’s. Just like yesterday, we are watching for another round of showers and thunderstorms to push across the South Plains beginning early this evening and continuing through Saturday evening. However, unlike the past few days, our coverage could expand further than the Northern South Plains. We are also watching for the possibility of strong to severe storms this afternoon through tomorrow night with the biggest threats being large hail and damaging wind gusts so make sure to stay weather aware. Storm chances will continue through early Monday morning with sunshine returning midday. Rain or shine, it is important to remember to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours! And don’t forget to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day.
