Happy Friday everyone! After a rainy evening for many, we will see a drier and partly sunny remainder of the day. Rain chances will return this evening and continue into Saturday morning. After that system clears out of the region, we will see a dry forecast until Sunday evening when our next front pushes into the area. This system will be stronger than the one pushing in tonight and will therefore not only bring the possibility of heavy rainfall, but also another substantial cool down on Monday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of the South Plains under the Marginal Risk Category both Saturday and Sunday with the biggest threats being small hail, strong wind gusts, heavy downpours, and localized flooding. Make sure to drive with caution and if you see pooling water, remember to turn around, don’t drown.
