August 7th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Monday everyone! We have had an overcast day with showers and thunderstorms moving across the region. This will continue this evening as another small mesoscale system moves across the South Plains bringing heavy rainfall as well as the possibility of damaging winds and large hail. Due to this, the Storm Prediction Center has placed the Western and Central South Plains under the Marginal Risk Category so make sure to stay weather aware. Rain chances will continue on your Tuesday with ample moisture lingering in the area. Temperatures will remain in the low 80’s tomorrow, but as rain chances diminish on Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will move back to average, if not above it. We will see a brief break from the rain at the end of the week but it will return over the weekend so make sure to have your umbrellas handy.
