Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another sunny and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the mid to upper 90’s. However, beginning this evening the forecast will change drastically, all due to a slow moving cold front to our North. Tonight we will watch for a large storm cell to move across the region, bringing moderate to heavy downpours. This system will exit quickly, but with the cold front stalling out over the panhandle, we will continue to see ample chances for showers and thunderstorms throughout the remainder of the work week and the weekend. Tomorrow is when we will see the potential for strong to severe storms with large hail and damaging wind gusts as the biggest threats so make sure to stay weather aware! The other noticeable change will be the large temperature drop that will occur over the next few days. Highs will move into the low 90’s on Wednesday and then into the low 80’s by the weekend.
