December 13th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been a beautiful, sunny, and much warmer day across the South Plains with highs reaching back into the upper 60’s. These warmer conditions will disappear quickly though as our second cold front of the week pushes across the region late tonight into early tomorrow morning. This will drop our highs back below average into the low 50’s. Then high pressure takes over the region yet again allowing us to see another slow warm up into Saturday with our third front of the week arriving that evening. With each front, temperatures will continue to drop a little more each time so make sure to keep your coats handy. Throughout this temperature roller coaster, lows will also remain at or below the freezing mark for the remainder of the week which means that it is imperative to bring your pets and potted plants indoors and turn sprinklers off to prevent a multitude of issues. There is also no precipitation for the remainder of this week but we are watching for a chance of precipitation at the beginning of next week so make sure to stay tuned for updates.
