Happy Monday everyone! It has been another sunny day across the South Plains with highs dropping way below average into the mid-40’s. As we move into mid-week, we will see a slow warm up into the low 50’s but this will be short-lived due to a strong cold front that is set to arrive on Thursday morning. This will drop our low temperatures back below freezing and our high temperatures back into the mid-30’s on Friday with little change expected on Saturday. It will also bring a mix of rain, sleet and snow to the South Plains starting overnight Thursday into Friday morning and continuing through midday on Saturday. Due to these cold conditions, over the next week it is recommended to keep your pets and potted plants indoors to ensure they stay safe and healthy and to keep your sprinkler systems turned off to prevent icy conditions on the roadways.
