Happy Tuesday everyone! It was a much sunnier day across the South Plains with highs back in the low 60’s and calmer winds. However, over the next few days both our wind speeds and temperatures will be on the increase. Highs will move back into the upper 60’s on Wednesday and the upper 70’s by Thursday. Winds will move back in the 20-45 MPH range starting tomorrow evening which means blowing dust will also return to the forecast and that there will be an increase risk of fire weather over the remainder of the week. Burning of any kind is not recommended and if you are a cigarette smoker, make sure to dispose of them properly. On Friday temperatures will slowly start to drop again, moving into the mid-50’s on Sunday and the low 40’s on Monday. We will also be watching for our next chance for precipitation which will begin Monday evening and continue on Tuesday. At this time models are indicating a rain/snow mix so make sure to stay tuned for updates!
